Jyoti, 14, (left) and her younger sister Poonam, 13, (right) are meditating next to one another before starting lessons inside a classroom of the small, private school they regularly attend since 2011, located close to their newly built home in Oriya Basti, one of the water-contaminated colonies in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India, near the abandoned Union Carbide (now DOW Chemical) industrial complex. The two girls are studying in Year 6, out of 12, in 2015-16.
